When I started in Tupperware, I was bankrupt. The worst part was that I thought it was just our financial situation, but the fact of the matter was that I was broken. I was a shadow of the person I once was and the person I knew I could be.
I remember sitting across from my future up-line Director as she was telling me about the money I was going to make. I remember telling her “I can’t date and I can’t recrui,t so I don’t know what you can do with me.” She said I can teach you those things, and if you do what I say, I can take you to the top! So I agreed. I did what she said for 30 days and at the end I had made over $1500 and had gotten over $500 in giveaways. From that point on, whenever she says jump I say how high.
I was looking for money when I came into Tupperware; what I found was so much more. I found some of the most real friendships I have had in my life. I found knock your socks off recognition. I found a company that truly cares about the people in the work force, a company that not only respects us but listens to what’s working and what’s not! The most significant thing I found was myself, my true self, my confident self!
When I started, I was terrified to speak up at meetings; now I can speak with confidence in front of hundreds of my peers. The best part is what it has done for my family. Yes the money is great: we bought a home, we can pay our bills, and send our children to private school. We have been on vacations on Tupperware’s dime…thank you Tupperware. I know that I have only begun to see the tip of the iceberg of what Tupperware is doing for my family. All the trainings I attend, all the business seminars, it all transfers to parenting, and the example I am setting for my impressionable children is priceless.
My children help in the family business in small ways now by labeling catalogs, stamping fliers, and helping me deliver Tupperware. What they don’t realize is that they are learning leadership when they hear me encourage my team members on the phone. They listen to cd’s on leadership in the car when we are not rockin’ out to our favorite music. The most significant thing they see is me set and work toward my goals. They see me succeed, and they see me fail, pick myself up and try again.
What other “job” helps you raise outstanding exceptional children while rewarding you with prizes, vacations, company cars, diamonds, coach purses, and oh yeah a 6 figure income all without missing out on the day to day of family life!
Life is Good!
